Trump Attacks California Prop 50 While Pushing Texas Republicans to Redraw Districts

California voters approved Prop 50 on Nov. 4, 2025 with 64% in favor, redrawing congressional maps to offset Trump's push for Texas Republicans to gerrymander five GOP-favoring seats. Trump had threatened a DOJ lawsuit to block Prop 50. Passed, the measure converts several Republican-leaning CA districts and will govern three election cycles through 2030, potentially netting Democrats five House seats.
