Marine veteran Brian McGinnis breaks arm during Senate Iran war protest

Brian McGinnis, a Marine veteran and North Carolina firefighter, interrupted a Senate Armed Services Subcommittee hearing on March 4, 2026 by shouting opposition to U.S. involvement in the Iran war. Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) physically assisted Capitol Police in removing McGinnis; McGinnis's arm was broken when it became trapped in a door during the forced removal, with an audible snap captured on video. McGinnis was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and unlawful demonstration.
