Arizona charges Cochise supervisors who delayed 2022 election certification
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced felony charges against Cochise County supervisors Peggy Judd and Tom Crosby after they delayed the county canvass past the legal deadline. The indictment said they interfered with the Secretary of State’s ability to complete the statewide canvass for the 2022 general election. Judd later pleaded guilty to failing to perform her duty as an election officer, while Crosby pleaded not guilty and lost an appeals-court immunity claim. The case turned a county certification refusal into a criminal test of whether local officials can block certified election results.
