Goldman Sachs warns furniture prices will jump 20% under tariffs
Goldman Sachs published an analysis warning that U.S. consumers face a 20 percent increase in furniture prices as a direct result of Trump administration tariffs on Chinese manufactured goods. The report estimated tariffs are now responsible for 67 percent of the consumer price burden on imported household goods. Retailers warned of further price increases in back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons.
