P5+1 reaches Lausanne framework agreement with Iran
After intensive negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, Iran and the P5+1 announce a framework agreement outlining the key parameters for a comprehensive nuclear deal. The Lausanne framework specifies uranium enrichment limits (up to 3.65% for 15 years), caps on centrifuge numbers, and IAEA access to declared nuclear sites. While detailed technical annexes remain to be negotiated, the framework represents a major diplomatic achievement: both sides have agreed in principle on the pathways to resolve the core nuclear disputes. Sustained pressure combined with genuine diplomacy has moved this intractable conflict toward resolution.
