Biden signs $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
President Biden signs the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (P.L. 117-58) into law on the South Lawn of the White House with a bipartisan group of lawmakers. The $1.2 trillion law provides $550 billion in new federal investment over five years for roads, bridges, rail, ports, airports, broadband internet, water infrastructure, and electric vehicle charging networks. It passes the Senate 69-30 with 19 Republican votes and the House 228-206. The law represents the largest infrastructure investment since the Interstate Highway System created under President Eisenhower in 1956.
