DOJ Offered 11 States Secret Deals to Purge Voter Rolls Based on Federal Data
The Trump DOJ sent a confidential memorandum of understanding to more than a dozen states, offering to flag allegedly ineligible voters using federal data and requiring states to remove them — handing the federal government an unprecedented role in state election administration. Eleven states expressed interest, including Alabama, Texas, Missouri, and Virginia. Colorado and Wisconsin rejected the offer. Four Republican-led states — Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, and Wyoming — complied voluntarily without formal MOUs. Critics warned the arrangement was unconstitutional and risked mass disenfranchisement.
