Supreme Court Grants Certiorari in Watson v. RNC Mail Ballot Deadline Case

The Supreme Court agreed to hear Watson v. Republican National Committee, a case challenging Mississippi's law allowing mail ballots received up to five days after Election Day to be counted if postmarked by Election Day. The 5th Circuit had invalidated the law. A ruling could jeopardize similar grace period laws in 29 states, including provisions protecting military and overseas voters.
