Bangladesh Trades Food Security for Tariff Relief in US Wheat Deal

The deal was negotiated directly between trade ministers without parliamentary ratification. Food security advocates warned the arrangement put 170 million Bangladeshis at risk of supply disruption if US wheat shipments were interrupted.
