Anduril deploys 300 AI surveillance towers on US-Mexico border under CBP contract

US Customs and Border Protection activates 300 autonomous surveillance towers built by Anduril Industries along the US-Mexico border. Each tower uses Anduril's Lattice AI to autonomously identify and classify people, vehicles, and objects, then queue alerts for Border Patrol agents. The system processes detections without human review of each frame. Civil liberties groups warn the deployment normalizes autonomous surveillance on domestic soil and creates infrastructure easily repurposed for interior enforcement. Anduril CEO Palmer Luckey says the towers "multiply the effectiveness" of each Border Patrol agent.
