UN reimposed sanctions on Iran via JCPOA snapback mechanism

The E3 (UK, France, Germany) trigger the JCPOA snapback mechanism on August 28 after NSPM-2 directed the US to work toward this outcome. At 8 PM EDT on September 27, the UN reimpose sanctions under six Security Council resolutions. The sanctions require Iran to suspend enrichment, prohibit ballistic missile technology, embargo conventional arms, and reimpose travel bans and asset freezes. China and Russia reject the snapback and state they will continue buying Iranian oil.
