Nick Land coins Dark Enlightenment label for Yarvin movement

British philosopher Nick Land published a long essay titled "The Dark Enlightenment" that systematized Yarvin's blog posts into a coherent anti-democratic philosophy. Land's essay rejected Enlightenment values of equality and democracy and argued for governance by techno-elites. The label gave the movement a name that spread through Silicon Valley reading lists.
