Trump administration orders all federal agencies to remove diversity-related language from public websites within 24 hours

The Office of Management and Budget issued an emergency directive giving all federal agencies 24 hours to remove diversity, equity, and inclusion terminology, imagery, and program descriptions from their public-facing websites. Agencies including the Department of Defense, the Departments of State and Justice, and all science agencies scrambled to comply, taking down program pages, research summaries, recruitment materials, and educational content. The rapid removal of content that had been produced, reviewed, and published through normal government processes left gaps in official information about ongoing programs, created broken links in published research citations, and eliminated publicly accessible summaries of work funded by American taxpayers. Archivists at the Internet Archive documented the removals, and researchers who had cited government web pages found their citations pointing to empty addresses.
