RFK Jr. replaces all 17 CDC vaccine advisers with skeptics

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dismissed all 17 members of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices on June 25, 2025, and replaced them with individuals who have publicly questioned vaccine safety and the childhood immunization schedule. ACIP sets the recommended immunization schedule used by insurers, Medicaid, and school vaccination requirements. Public health experts warned the replacements could lead to lower vaccination rates and a return of preventable diseases.
