Peter Thiel published "The Education of a Libertarian" in Cato Unbound, writing: "I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible." Thiel called for libertarians to find "an escape from politics in all its forms," seeding a doctrine that elected oversight is incompatible with markets.
