Leonard Leo Steps from Federalist Society to Steer Dark-Money Network

Leonard Leo, executive vice president of the Federalist Society since 2003, told Axios he was stepping back from his daily Federalist Society role to steer a network of 501(c)(4) groups including The 85 Fund, Concord Fund, and CRC Advisors. Leo had spent two decades building the donor pipeline behind the appointments of Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The shift moved the architect of conservative judicial vetting into direct control of the spending arm.
