66 arrested at Tribeca Hilton anti-ICE hotel occupation; NYC mayor commends protesters

Approximately 66 protesters were arrested after occupying the lobby of the Tribeca Hilton in Lower Manhattan on January 27, 2026, claiming federal immigration agents were staying at the hotel. NYPD issued 64 summonses for trespassing and disorderly conduct and two desk appearance tickets for resisting arrest. Mayor Zohran Mamdani issued a statement commending protesters for exercising their right to protest, calling ICE "a rogue agency that has repeatedly carried out cruel, inhumane, and lawless raids, arrests, shootings."
