Federal court orders FEC to enforce dark-money disclosure rule

On Aug. 3, 2018, a federal judge vacated an FEC regulation that had narrowed donor disclosure requirements for groups running independent expenditure ads. The ruling in CREW v. FEC increased disclosure obligations for some dark-money spending.
