Abbott signs Texas law banning DEI offices at public universities

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed SB 17, barring diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and related required trainings at public colleges and universities. The law forced public higher education systems to dismantle offices and programs that had supported students from underrepresented communities.
