Supreme Court narrows McCain-Feingold ad limits in Wisconsin Right to Life case
On June 25, 2007, the Supreme Court ruled in FEC v. Wisconsin Right to Life that issue ads could not be banned unless they were the functional equivalent of express campaign advocacy. The ruling weakened limits on election-season political advertising.
