Roberto Garcia is sentenced for illegally voting in Arizona's 2020 election
A Pinal County judge sentenced Roberto Garcia to 1.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. The Arizona Attorney General's Office said Garcia had pleaded guilty to one felony count of illegal voting after casting a 2020 general-election ballot while ineligible because prior felony convictions had not been restored. The sentencing order canceled Garcia's voter registration, and the Attorney General's Office said he could register again only after applying for rights restoration after completing his sentence. The case gave election officials a named eligibility violation tied to one counted 2020 ballot.
