State Department Eliminates Office of Global Change; U.S. Attendance at COP30 in Doubt

Around Nov. 1, 2025, the Trump State Department fired the remaining staff of its Office of Global Change — the U.S. climate negotiating team — leaving the country without official representation at COP30, the UN climate summit in Belém, Brazil.
