Closure of the boyfriend loophole under BSCA takes full effect

Statutory prohibition on firearm possession by individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence crimes against dating partners (not just spouses/cohabitants) fully in effect. 5-year prohibition period; individuals who complete sentence requirements without further violations may have rights restored. First expansion of the Lautenberg Amendment since 1996.
