Louisiana AG Murrill announces 5th Circuit appeal to block mail-order mifepristone

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced an immediate appeal to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to block the 2023 REMS changes while the FDA completes its safety review. The 5th Circuit, reversed by the Supreme Court more often than any other circuit in recent terms, could issue a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking mail-order access for the 25% of abortion patients who currently obtain mifepristone via telehealth.
