Biden signs $2.3 billion emergency American Rescue Plan vaccine supply chain order

Having already vaccinated 100 million Americans by April 19, 16 days ahead of his 100-day goal, Biden uses the Defense Production Act to accelerate COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing and distribution. Biden had initially set a goal of 100 million shots in 100 days. By Day 100 on April 30, over 220 million shots have been administered. The rapid rollout makes the US the fastest major nation to vaccinate its population. By July 4, 2021, over 160 million Americans are fully vaccinated. Biden's vaccine rollout uses a combination of FEMA mass vaccination sites, pharmacy partnerships (CVS, Walgreens, local pharmacies), the National Guard, and mobile vaccination units. The administration purchases and distributes 600 million doses total.
