Vance Joins Thiel's Mithril Capital as Principal

JD Vance left Silicon Valley venture firm Revolution to join Peter Thiel's Mithril Capital Management as a principal in 2017, less than a year after publishing Hillbilly Elegy. Thiel had recruited Vance after a 2011 Yale Law School talk Vance later called the most significant moment of his time there. The Mithril role gave Vance both an investor income and direct access to Thiel's political network.
