Hut 8 and Trump family investors launch American Bitcoin

On March 31, 2025, Hut 8 announced a new bitcoin mining company, American Bitcoin, with investors including Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. Reuters reported Hut 8 would hold 80 percent of the venture, Eric Trump would serve as chief strategy officer and the company planned to pursue a public listing.
