ICE detains 5-year-old asylum seeker as bait; Vance defends tactic

ICE agents in a Minneapolis suburb detained five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos — who had a pending asylum case and no deportation order — after he returned home from preschool. An agent directed the child to knock on the family home's door, using him to draw out additional occupants. Vice President Vance, visiting Minneapolis that day, dismissed concerns when asked by reporters: "Are they not supposed to arrest an illegal alien in the United States of America?" A federal judge later ruled the detention illegal and ordered the child and his father released.
