Supreme Court June 2025 rulings gut transgender care and expand gun access

The Supreme Court issued several rulings in late June 2025 that restricted transgender healthcare access and expanded Second Amendment gun rights. The Court upheld state bans on gender-affirming care for minors in United States v. Skrmetti and struck down federal restrictions on certain firearms. The rulings came at the close of a term that also dramatically limited judicial power to issue nationwide injunctions and expanded religious exemptions in public schools.
