DeSantis Signs Self-Drawn Florida Congressional Map (SB 2-C)

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 2-C, a congressional map his own staff drew after he vetoed the legislature plan on March 29, 2022. The map dismantled the Black-performing 5th District held by US Rep. Al Lawson and produced a 20R-8D delegation, up from 16R-11D. It marked the first time in modern Florida history a governor imposed his own congressional map on the legislature.
