Rufo Launches Critical Race Theory Campaign on Tucker Carlson

Christopher Rufo appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight on September 2, 2020, calling critical race theory "the default ideology of the federal bureaucracy" and urging President Trump to issue an executive order banning it from federal training programs. White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows called Rufo the next morning, and on September 22, 2020, Trump signed Executive Order 13950 restricting "divisive concepts" in federal contractor training. Rufo later told The New Yorker the term CRT was a "promising political weapon" against many adjacent ideas.
