SCOTUS blocks Biden OSHA vaccine mandate for large employers upholds healthcare worker mandate 5-4

The Supreme Court issues two simultaneous rulings on Biden's COVID vaccine requirements. An unsigned 6-3 opinion blocks the OSHA vaccine-or-test rule for large private employers, finding OSHA lacks authority to regulate a public health hazard that exists outside the workplace. The court writes "Although Congress has indisputably given OSHA the power to regulate occupational dangers, it has not given that agency the power to regulate public health more broadly." Simultaneously, a 5-4 majority upholds the separate rule requiring vaccination of workers at Medicare and Medicaid-funded healthcare facilities. Biden calls the OSHA ruling "a setback" and vows to use other tools.
