Anita Hill
historical
University of Oklahoma law professor who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in October 1991 that Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her while she worked for him at the EEOC. The all-male, all-white Senate committee's dismissive treatment of her testimony sparked a national reckoning with workplace harassment and drove a wave of women to run for Congress in 1992. Thomas was confirmed 52-48.
