James Richardson Comer Jr. represents Kentucky's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House. First elected in a 2016 special election to replace Ed Whitfield, Comer chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in both the 118th and 119th Congresses. Before Congress, he served six terms in the Kentucky House of Representatives (2000-2012) and as Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner (2012-2016).
