Nick Begich III represents Alaska's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House, winning the 2024 election by defeating incumbent Democrat Mary Peltola through Alaska's ranked-choice voting system with 51.3% of the final-round vote. A tech entrepreneur who founded software company FarShore Partners and co-founded venture firm Dashfire, Begich serves as Vice Chair of the House Energy & Mineral Resources Subcommittee and holds seats on three committees: Natural Resources, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Science, Space & Technology. He focuses on expanding Alaska's energy production, increasing the state's share of federal oil leasing revenue from 50% to 90%, and investing in rural infrastructure including microgrids for remote communities.
