Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards (MS CCRS) for Social Studies - 2022 revision with 158 modifications from 2021 draft based on public input and educator committee review (62 educators from four congressional districts, 7 postsecondary faculty, 10 MDE experts). Based on National Council for Social Studies C3 Framework with five unique strands: Civics, Economics, Geography, Civil Rights, and History. Emphasizes four practices: conceptual understanding, fostering inquiry, collaboration and action, and integration of content skills. Civil rights as dedicated fifth strand is unique approach nationally.
