The U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) is an Article III federal court in New York City with exclusive jurisdiction over civil cases involving international trade law. Importers, exporters, and state governments sue in the CIT to challenge tariff classifications, customs rulings, anti-dumping duties, and other trade enforcement actions. The CIT operates under the same procedural rules as federal district courts but with judges who specialize in trade law. Appeals from the CIT go to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and from there to the Supreme Court.
