DHS launches Operation Catahoula Crunch in New Orleans

DHS launched Operation Catahoula Crunch, first planned under the name Swamp Sweep, deploying about 250 Border Patrol agents with a target of 5,000 arrests across southeast Louisiana and into Mississippi. Republican Gov. Jeff Landry welcomed the operation and had sought National Guard troops, while New Orleans Mayor-elect Helena Moreno opposed a Guard deployment.
