Judge Joseph finds Louisiana likely to win mifepristone mail challenge, stays case six months

Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge David Joseph issued a 37-page ruling in Louisiana v. FDA, finding Louisiana has valid legal standing and is likely to succeed in proving the FDA's 2023 mifepristone dispensing changes were unlawful. He declined to immediately block mail-order mifepristone but stayed the case for six months while the FDA completes a safety review. He warned the Court's analysis will inevitably change if the agency fails to finish. Twenty-one Republican AGs and 60 members of Congress filed supporting amicus briefs.
