Obama signs Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act codifying Job Corps

President Obama signed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act on July 22, 2014, replacing the 1998 Workforce Investment Act. WIOA Title I-C, codified at 29 U.S.C. § 3195 et seq., authorizes Job Corps, sets eligibility at ages 16-24, and requires public notice plus congressional notification before closing individual centers. The law passed the Senate 95-3 and the House 415-6.
