Enhanced ACA Premium Tax Credits Expire, Premiums Double for 22 Million Americans
On January 1, 2026, the enhanced ACA premium tax credits established by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act expired after Congress failed to extend them. An estimated 22 million of 24 million marketplace enrollees had been receiving the enhanced credits.
