Shots fired at Border Patrol during Little Village immigration sweep

A man fired at least two rounds at Border Patrol agents conducting an Operation Midway Blitz sweep near 26th and Kedzie in Little Village, then fled; no agent was hit. DHS said agents also faced four vehicle rammings and thrown bricks, and police arrested nine people, eight of them U.S. citizens. Agents fired tear gas at residents the same day. Prosecutors later charged Hector Gomez with illegal gun possession, not the shooting.
