Trump administration dismisses National Climate Assessment authors

The Trump administration dismissed all roughly 400 volunteer authors of the Sixth National Climate Assessment, the congressionally mandated report due in 2028 from the U.S. Global Change Research Program. NASA had already canceled the USGCRP support contract with consulting firm ICF. The Global Change Research Act of 1990 requires the assessment every four years, and the existing NCA archives were removed from federal websites on June 30, 2025.
