Judge Adam Abelson blocks three provisions of the DEI orders nationwide

U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson, a Biden appointee, issued a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the grant-termination provision, the contractor certification requirement, and the enforcement-threat directive. In a 63-page opinion he ruled the plaintiffs likely to win on First Amendment and vagueness grounds, writing that the term "equity-related" "invites arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement."
