Federal authorities arrested Wilmar Jeovanny Montano Alvarado, then 37, of Houston, Texas, in a Jan. 6 Capitol breach case. The case involved civil disorder, assaulting or impeding officers, entering a restricted building, and impeding passage through Capitol grounds. NPR records that Montano Alvarado was later found guilty at a bench trial, that the obstruction count was dismissed, and that the court granted dismissal with prejudice on January 22, 2025.
