FAA orders flight cuts at 40 airports as controllers go unpaid

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford ordered airlines to cut flights at 40 of the busiest U.S. airports, starting at 4% and ramping toward 10%, after unpaid air traffic controllers called out or quit. NATCA said staffing had fallen to about 10,800, the lowest in decades.
