Senate sets April 16 hearing for Kevin Warsh Fed chair nomination

Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott announced an April 16 confirmation hearing for Kevin Warsh, President Trump's pick to replace Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. The hearing was later delayed to April 21 after the committee had not received Warsh's paperwork in time. Warsh, a former Fed governor under George W. Bush, had been nominated in March 2026 to lead the central bank.
