Biden extends U.S.-Israel agricultural trade terms through 2025 and makes tariff-schedule fixes

President Joe Biden issued Proclamation 10875 on December 20, 2024, to keep parts of the U.S.-Israel agricultural trade arrangement in force through December 31, 2025. The proclamation extended duty-free access for specified quantities of certain Israeli agricultural products under the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Area framework. It also made technical and conforming changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule tied to USMCA, DR-CAFTA, AGOA, CBERA, and earlier tariff proclamations. The action matters because tariff schedules decide which goods receive preferential treatment, and presidents can use delegated trade-law authority to keep trade concessions operating while Congress and trade agencies oversee the broader legal framework.
