James Strahler pleads guilty in first conviction under Take It Down Act
James Strahler II, 37, of Columbus, Ohio, pleaded guilty on April 8, 2026, to cyberstalking, producing obscene AI-generated CSAM, and publication of digital forgeries under the Take It Down Act — becoming the first person convicted under the law. Prosecutors said Strahler used over 100 AI models across 24 platforms to generate more than 700 sexualized images of children and sent explicit AI-generated images to at least six adult female victims. Melania Trump hailed the conviction.
