Federal Court Hears Harvard Challenge to NIH Grant Suspension
The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts heard oral arguments in Harvard University's lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services over the suspension of approximately $2 billion in NIH research grants. Harvard argued the freeze violated the Administrative Procedure Act and First Amendment academic freedom protections. The court indicated it would issue a preliminary injunction ruling within days.
